The rules to neutralize,mitigate or set limits on a negative impact could be with corrective or preventive objectives, deppending if we want to prevent it or if it is already here.

The preventive rules are, in all cases, the more convenients and are apply to contingency impact´s nuetralization.

There are no contingency impacts derivated from own productive process and that can not be avoid. In that case mitigation trough direct or indirect actions that diminish or neutralize the negative impact provocated is the suitable option.

Finally, in case of not been able to stop the impact from happening, the mitigation way used is setting limits, what is to say not allowing its extension trough time or space.

In every environmental impact study its important to take into account corrective actions, making a balance that shows the adjoined net action of the impact and its mitigating and/or corrective standards allowing a better analysis of the enterprise- environment interaction.
